Leadership qualities in Children
Better World for Tomorrow How we make Leaders for Tomorrow. Blossoms International School, plays a significant role in nurturing leadership skills, and student elections are one of the most effective platforms for this. Students contest for roles such as Dolphins House Captain, Dolphins Vice captain, Panthers House Captain, Panthers Vice Captain and also class elections for class representatives. The school makes a fair decision by giving an opportunity to all the higher grade students to participate for the election by going through the first elimination round by attending an interview. A panel of judges will interact with the students to know their interests, confidence, desires, strength, goals and select the final set of candidates. Elections helped our students to prepare speeches, manifestos, and deliver campaigns. After going through the entire process of elections, students are determined to represent student voices and understand the responsibilities of leadership. By Ms. Anjana P, High School Teacher at Blossoms 20 November 2025 Winning or Losing….. ..all about how you take it Whether students win or lose, participation boosted confidence among our students. Constructive feedback and reflection from the teachers helped our students grow emotionally and socially. Leaders and other eloquent students get an opportunity to host events in the school premises under the guidance of expert teachers. This helps them gain confidence, articulate ideas clearly, and speak in front of peers. Inter-school competitions play a vital role in shaping our students’ personality and boosting self-confidence. When our students participate in events beyond their own school environment—such as sports, debates, quizzes, music, art, science fairs, or cultural competitions, they are exposed to new challenges and diverse peer groups. This experience has helped them to step out of their comfort zones and believe in their own abilities. Success motivates, while failures teach resilience and the courage to try again, qualities essential for future leaders. Through several events in the school premises children at Blossoms get a fair opportunity to host, plan, organize and execute different programs. As emcees, students get exposure which reduces their stage fear and builds leadership qualities. Students also show their traits by managing their juniors in the absence of faculty members. Teachers role in mentoring the young ones The Real Stars Our teachers help students become independent by guiding them thoughtfully, supporting them initially, and gradually allowing them to take charge of their learning. By identifying students’ strengths and areas for improvement, teachers lead the students in the right path. Students feel safe to express their opinions as teachers at Blossoms create a safe learning environment. The teachers here always encourage students to express their thoughts, share their ideas, and take part in different activities. Teachers at Blossoms celebrate efforts more than perfection and thus boosts confidence through consistent practice, supportive environment and engaging strategies.
